This adjustable control responds to ambient air temperature, switching your de-icer on when temperatures fall below the selected setting and off as temperatures rise.
Part #131017 is designed for hardwired installation. It includes a 6-foot power-source pigtail and a 1-foot equipment-connection pigtail with bare leads. Have a qualified electrician complete the installation using the manufacturer’s instructions and an electrical supply that matches your equipment.

Compatible Ice Eater Models
Airmax lists thermostat #131017 as the optional 230V thermostat for the following redesigned Ice Eater configurations:
- P750: 3/4 HP, 230V
- P1000: 1 HP, 230V
For a 115V Ice Eater, select the separate 115V thermostat, part #131018. Confirm electrical ratings and compatibility before connecting other de-icer brands or equipment.
Installation & Operation
The longer pigtail provides the connection to the electrical supply, while the shorter pigtail provides the connection to the Ice Eater. This model does not include the pre-wired plug and receptacle supplied with the 115V thermostat.
- Have a qualified electrician verify the thermostat, de-icer and electrical supply ratings.
- Position the thermostat where it can sense representative outdoor air temperature.
- Have the electrician complete the supply and equipment connections according to the manufacturer’s wiring instructions.
- Adjust the temperature setting to suit your de-icing needs.
Use a properly grounded, GFCI-protected electrical supply. Disconnect power before servicing, cleaning or repositioning your de-icer; temperature-controlled equipment can start automatically.
