Choosing the Correct Dock Stair Size

Before ordering, measure vertically from the lake bottom to the top surface of your dock at the intended installation location. This 4-step model is designed for measurements ranging from approximately 32 to 44 inches.

The adjustable support legs must rest on a reasonably firm and stable lake bottom. These stairs are not designed to hang unsupported from the dock like a conventional dock ladder. If your measurement exceeds 44 inches, consider the ShoreMaster 6-step model for a more comfortable first-step height.

Dock Compatibility and Mounting

The stair assembly uses welded, predrilled mounting plates at the top of the stair stringers. It may be bolted to many compatible stationary and wheel-in dock systems with flat or flush mounting surfaces. The dock structure and mounting location must be capable of supporting the stairs and their intended load.

ShoreMaster dock installation: Two compatible ShoreMaster InfinityTrack/QC accessory brackets are required when installing these stairs on ShoreMaster Infinity RS4, RS7, TS9, or FTS9 dock frames. Accessory brackets are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.

Mounting requirements can vary on non-ShoreMaster docks. Confirm the mounting surface, dock-frame construction, and required hardware before ordering.

Installation and Use

• Select a location where both foot pads can rest securely on the lake bottom.
• Attach the upper mounting plates using the appropriate brackets or dock-compatible hardware.
• Adjust the support legs until the stairs are level and both foot pads are firmly supported.
• Recheck the mounting hardware and leg adjustment periodically, especially after significant changes in water level.
