FREQENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
For questions like 'How to choose the correct lift for my boat?' or 'How to find the weight of your boat?' please reference our learning center FAQ here. The questions below are questions that have been asked by customers about this lift or similar lifts.
If my boat's specs say it's 21', do I need a 22' canopy?
- Make sure you have the overall length of your boat, many times the specs do not include the platform. If it says overall length or LOA, it should be an accurate length. If you can not find this information, we recommend measuring your boat yourself.
- Once you have the length of your boat, choosing a canopy that gives you a little room is always a good idea. For a boat with an overall length of 21', we would recommend a 24' canopy.
How do I measure my ShoreStation canopy frame
- If you have an Aluminum Frame you first need to measure the length of the side rail. This does not include the end sections. Take that measurement from the side rail and add two feet. That is your overall length. To find the width measure the inside width of the bottom of the frame in inches. So, for example, If you had measured a length of 22' for your side rails the overall length is 24'. If you had measured a inside width of 120" then the correct canopy cover for you would be a 24' x 120"
- If you have a Steel Frame you first need to measure the inside width of the bottom of the frame in inches. Following that count the number of ribs on the frame not including the ends. The number of ribs on your frame determines the length of the frame.
- 7 Ribs = 19' overall length
- 8 Ribs = 21' overall length
- 9 Ribs = 23' overall length
- 10 Ribs = 25' overall length
- So, for example, If you had a inside measurement of 110" and have 9 ribs you then have a 23' x 110" canopy frame
