Thru Flow Decking is the best and safest way to deck your dock in areas with large waves or high winds...even hurricane winds. ThruFlow™ is designed to be the decking surface for a dock, pier, deck, patio, or any outside or inside flooring structure. It's durable, safe, maintenance-free, storm resistant, environmentally friendly, comfortable to walk on and easy to install, what more could you want out of a walking surface?
- Made from Virgin Plastic
- Reinforced with Fibreglass
- Contains No Recycled Material
- Increased Load Bearing and Flexural Stiffness Properties (Very Strong)

SAFE & ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY:
The interlocking panels are ideal for docks due to their water resistance and 360° anti-slip surface. You will never have water gathering on dock or pier that can cause the walking surface to become slippery. No algae or mold that can also lead to a slick surface.
The design of this decking allows light to penetrate below the walking surface, minimizing the effect of the walking surface on the plants and animals below. The Army Corps of Engineer's have approved this product in Florida over submerged aquaticvegetation (sea-grass, mangrovehabitat, etc.). You will also never have to worry about leeching chemicals and it is also recyclable.

FEATURES:
- Impervious to rot, mold, algae and insects
- Absolutely NO treating, staining or sealing required
- Barefoot Friendly
- UV package designed for Southern Florida exposure
- Maintenance Free
- No puddles or splinters!
- Allows Sunlight, Water and Debris to Pass
- Cool to the touch, even in hot sun!
- ADA compliant
- Helps minimize uplift on decking surface from wind and water
- Available in 3, 4 and 5 Foot Lengths
- Pre-Drilled & Countersunk holes for Easy Installation
- Can be used virtually anywhere a walkway is needed, indoor or outdoor

STORM SMART:
The grate style surface also allows water and wind from below to pass through which helps protect your dock from the effects of wave and storm surge damage by minimizing the effect of uplift on the decking surface. Docks with this decking have survived hurricanes in Florida where ALL other docks have been destroyed. |

INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
ThruFlow™ is designed to be used in conjunction with metal, wood, aluminum or other similar substructures. The panels come in three colors; light gray, sea foam (off white) and maple (beige). The decking panels are currently offered in three sizes; Three Foot Panels (12" x 36"), Four Foot Panels (12" x 48") and Five Foot Panels (12" x 60") and have a thickness of approximately 1.25 inches.
JOIST SPACING:
- Three Foot Panels - 18” on center
- Four Foot Panels - 16” on center
- Five Foot Panels - 15” on center
RECOMMENDATIONS:
High quality screws are recommended for fastening such as #10 or #12 pan head stainless steel to take advantage of longevity this product. Pre-drilling is not required as the holes are molded in with a countersink for your convenience. Screws should be clear through the panel and fastened into the material of your structural frame. Remember not to tighten the screw down to allow for expansion or contraction.
While the panels will not shrink or swell due to changes in moisture, changes in temperature will cause slight expansion/contraction. Therefore, gapping is required both side-to-side and at the panel ends to allow for thermal expansion/contraction. Rules of Thumb: Panels should be allowed to grow minimum of 1/16" in total length (1/32” each end) and 1/32” in total width (1/64” per side) for every 30°F of difference between installation temperature and the hottest temperature expected.

Question:Do I need to gap between panels?
-
Gary
(03/01/2013)
Response:Yes, you will need to gap in both directions. ThruFlow will not shrink or swell due to changes in moisture, but changes in temperature will cause slight expansion and contraction. Gapping is required both side-to-side and at the panel ends to allow for thermal expansion and contraction.
Rule of Thumb: ThruFlow Interlocking Panels should be allowed to grow minimum of 1/16" in total length (1/32” each end) and 1/32” in total width (1/64” per side) for every 30°F of difference between installation temperature and the hottest temperature expected.
Question:How do I fasten or attach the panels?
-
Gary
(03/01/2013)
Response:Holes are molded into each panel and are countersunk. Screws should pass through the panel into the material of your structural frame. We recommend using high quality screws such as #10 or #12 pan head stainless steel. Remember not to tighten the screw down tight to allow for expansion or contraction.
Question:Do I need a structure beneath the panels?
-
Gary
(03/01/2013)
Response:Yes, while ThruFlow is very tough and durable, it does not have the same stiffness as wood. It is not intended for use as a load-bearing structural member.
Question:What joist spans do I use for my dock when using ThruFlow?
-
Gary
(03/01/2013)
Response:The span depends on the width of the dock. The 3 ft panels require 18" on center span, the 4ft panels require 16" on center span and the 6ft panel requires 15" on center span. Special applications or loading conditions will require engineering analysis and/or reduced spans. Please consult and adhere to your local building code.
