SeaScape underwater lights actually produce a brilliant white light during operation. The colored glow you observe is due to the presence of algae and other particles in the water. Depending on your location and water clariey, your effect can range from deep green (northern Florida, Alabama) to aqua and turquoise (Miami Beach, Saint Kitts, Traverse Bay).

SeaScape Systems have been designed with the environment in mind. Mercury vapor bulbs (the primary component of the majority of underwater lighting) break easily and leak harmful contaminants into the water. SeaScape's compact fluorescent bulbs use 70% less energy than standard bulbs, are enclosed in a durable protective case and contain only a fraction of mercury compared to standard incandescent bulbs.

  • Requires GFI power source

SHIPPING REQUIREMENTS

How long will the system last?
Assuming you run your system 8 hours per day (this also keeps the lights clean), your bulb should last for three to four years. Once the bulb fails, you may purchase a replacement at a fraction of the price of a new system.

How much do the systems cost to operate?
Because each light draws such low amperage, and because the system utilizes energy saving compact fluorescent bulbs, they are extremely affordable to run. Each light in the system should cost no more than four or five dollars a month in power usage based on eight hours of nightly operation.

Are the lights safe to operate?
Because the lights require a GFI power source to operate, they are safe to operate. Should your system short, the GFI will immediately cut the power supply thus eliminating the risk of electric shock. GFI systems are required code throughout most of the United States, but ensure their usage prior to installing your system. Failure to utilize a GFI outlet could cause serious harm and will void your warranty.

How much water will the lights illuminate?
This depends on your location, water, clarity, ect. Waterfront owners with an abundance of algae can expect 10 - 20 feet of illumination per light. Owners with clearer waters (such as south Florida, the Caribbean, Traverse Bay, ect.) can experience as much as 40 - 50 feet of illumination per light. Regardless of clarity, SeaScape Systems will enable you to landscape your waterway and transform your waterfront after dark.

How do the lights attract fish?
Our specialty bulbs produce an amazing 400 watts of illumination. In addition, they operate at 6500 kelvin which is the same spectrum as the sun. It's this combination of power and clarity which causes our systems to act as "fish magnets", drawing marine life from every direction. Immediately after your system is installed, you will notice an increase in bait fish around your dock and seawall. Within a week, you should notice a dramatic increase in the number of larger fish which frequent your property, creating an underwater aquarium unique to your home!
