Additional Information:

When choosing a wood dock system, keep in mind that the sections can be purchased with or without center support stringers, with an added center support and with a complete framework beneath the decking surface. We have broken them down below to help explain the difference.

  • No Center Support - least expensive option, you will get center decking flex on load. Deck boards are attached together to help support the load, and connected on the sides by aluminum side stringers. These sections are recommend for those with a tight budget and are intended for light residential use.
  • Added Center Support - adds $35 to $40 per section and helps to eliminate the deck flexing. Adding a center support creates a more rigid walking surface compared to sections without center supports.
  • Complete Framework - This is only offered by Max Dock of which provides a welded aluminum frame beneath the decking, eliminating the flex and stiffening the section. This is the best option when choosing from our wood dock sections. Offering increased weight capacity on load and creating the most rigid option among the three.

Wood dock sections like these are also referred to as Boardwalk. Any section that uses lumber will require maintenance overtime to keep them looking good. You also have the option to repair or replace the wood planks fairly easily.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have with our wood dock systems.
